Expent

Service Provided
Expent was a Y Combinator-backed vendor lifecycle management platform specializing in vendor onboarding, compliance, risk assessment, and relationship management for enterprises. The company's Risk-AI capability was an early application of AI in the vendor risk space. In October 2025, Expent was acquired by Hyperproof, a compliance and risk management software company, with Expent's founding team joining Hyperproof to expand its trust, vendor, and third-party risk management capabilities.
How Everything Design Helped Expent
Expent came to Everything Design through a referral from Guru, the founder of SimpliContract — another example of how the ecosystem of trust around Everything Design generates new engagements. The brief was comprehensive: Expent needed a brand identity, a messaging framework, a website, and an explainer video that could communicate a complex vendor lifecycle management platform to enterprise buyers.
Everything Design started with the fundamentals. Mejo led the messaging framework along with Sharath, bringing clarity to how Expent positioned its platform — vendor onboarding, compliance, risk assessment, and relationship management — in language that resonated with procurement leaders and IT decision-makers. Ekta drove the design direction, and the logo design and brand identity gave Expent a visual system that looked credible and enterprise-grade from day one, critical for a Y Combinator startup selling into large organizations.
The website design and development brought the messaging and brand to life. One standout element was the Risk-AI page — a key product feature page where Lottie animations were used to visually explain how Expent's AI-powered risk assessment worked. This was before AI became the industry buzzword it is today, and the way Everything Design visualized the Risk-AI capability through animation was widely appreciated by the Expent team. The Lottie animation work across the site demonstrated how motion design can make complex B2B SaaS products tangible and engaging without overwhelming the viewer.
The explainer video was another milestone — one of Everything Design's early projects in the explainer video space, and it set a standard for what the agency could deliver in product storytelling. Athira, Akhilesh, Saurabh, and Jiyash were key contributors alongside Mejo and Ekta, delivering branding, development, and animation work that punched well above what you'd expect from an agency at that stage.
The outcome speaks volumes. In October 2025, Expent was acquired by Hyperproof, a compliance and risk management software company. The Expent founders, after five years of building the company, joined Hyperproof to expand its trust, vendor, and third-party risk management capabilities. That's a success story for the founders and a validation of the brand and digital foundation Everything Design helped build — a Y Combinator startup that went from early-stage positioning to acquisition, with the brand, messaging, and website holding strong throughout the journey.
Why Expent chose Everything Design
Expent — a software company — came to Everything Design on a trusted recommendation to build a website and identity ahead of a conference, on a tight deadline. The old site was a single, outdated page; the new one breaks the product down by stakeholder with strong visuals.
"Mijo's approach was: do the external-facing piece first, so you can start using it at the conference, then build out the rest. If we'd tried to do everything at once, we'd never have been ready. It was a fantastic approach." — Srikanth
"The past agencies we'd worked with always lacked one thing or another. With you, we got a balanced end product — good visual elements and good copy. And it didn't suck up all our time, which was another goal going in."
"People don't read text — they look at the visuals, and the visual elements are what convey what we needed to. A year on, nobody feels the website is outdated; it was future-proofed enough to still hold."
His verdict: "Are we happy with the output? A hundred percent. I'd 100% recommend Everything Design — a very happy customer." (Those visuals are still in use today.)
