Linda Tong and Vlad Magdalin recently announced the acquisition of GSAP, and they are currently working on a new interaction engine—IX3—which will replace Webflow’s current IX2 engine. IX2 relies on jQuery-based JavaScript animations, while the upcoming IX3 will be powered by GSAP alongside jQuery.This development could be a game changer for Webflow animations, addressing one of the key issues with IX2: animations being applied across all pages, leading to unnecessary JavaScript load. With IX3, we expect animations to be applied only on the relevant pages, optimizing performance and resource usage.
